Journey

Well here we go! First off I want to say how proud of my Wife (Christy Day) I am! She is doing RBL this year as a second chance participant. Please check out her blog. She has many encouraging words and a powerful testimony.

So here is a little about me. I’m 38 and married and blessed with 3 beautiful kiddos. I am 120 lbs overweight, have sleep apnea, high blood pressure and tired all the time. Two years ago I lost 85 lbs in 4 months and felt great. I went from a 46 waist to a 38. I ate healthy and exercised 6 days a week. Gradually the weight came back on because I gradually stopped eating healthy and exercising. I would come up with excuses as to why I did not exercise and tell myself “it’s the holidays, no one ever eats healthy this time of year and why are my clothes shrinking?” Then I thought “well I only gained 19 lbs so I will start again the first part of the year.” Yeah right!! Another New Years resolution broken. (This year I made one to gain 100 lbs! Trying to use some good ole reverse psychology on myself lol) I ended up gaining all but 5 lbs back.

That was then and this is now! I am no longer going to beat myself up over it. God has given me a 2nd chance. I am going to learn from the mistakes of my past to move forward to a permanent lifestyle change. Rob calls this a journey and he is right. The definition of journey is “an act of traveling from one place to another” This place I am heading to is a place of being healthy and living life the way God intended it to be.
