The Bird Lady

I love birds!  I’m in awe of tiny little hummingbirds that will arrive this summer and entertain us with their speed & agility, and the sparrows that build a nest under our front porch roof each spring.  I get a front row seat to God’s littlest creatures and it always reminds me of one of my favorite verses from Matthew 6:26-27:

Look at the birds.  They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them.  And aren’t you far more valuable to Him than they are?  Can all of your worries add a single moment to your life?

I just discovered a new nest about 2 ft from my bathroom window with a bird I can’t identify but it just sits there when I’m watching it and doesn’t fly away.  I think this is God’s reminder to me that He’s watching over me!

Remember everyone: God’s got this so let’s not worry about the little details but give them up to our Lord.

Fun-loving 54 year young Mom who has gone way too long without exercise and control over my food intake BUT that's all about to change! Something clicked the day I applied to be on Rob's Big Losers, and it all became crystal clear that I had to take back control! I work at Grace Church and have been a Travel Agent for 25 years but my biggest joy is watching my 17 year old son, Thomas, become an awesome and responsible young man!

  1. I appreciate your love for birds. I am sorry to say I do not share the same love as I am terrified of them. I know its weird but I do appreciate their beauty and symbolism from far away behind closed doors/windows. I do also love your sentiment that God is watching over you and that God’s got this – Great message! Have a fabulous weekend 🙂
