Slow and steady wins the race…..or so I’ve heard.

Good afternoon, and thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Seriously, I really appreciate you being a part of this journey with me. Last Thursday was the big kick off and it was absolutely amazing. There was so much support and love in that gym it was humbling. I held back tears the whole night. I met my team……..GO EASTSIDE YMCA……. I met my trainer and I was ready to get started! However, I didn’t get to start on Friday like I would have wanted to because I had a leaders conference in Georgia that lasted Friday night and Saturday till around 4pm. Then I got back around 7pm just in time to make it to a sweet 15 birthday for one of my youth. Sunday I had church all day then one of my boys needed some one on one time to talk through some things and stayed for dinner. Needless to say, I did not start going to the gym as soon as I wanted to. I am sure you are wondering why this woman is rambling on about her weekend. Well this journey for me is spiritual just as much as it is physical. If you watched my first video message, then you know losing weight is just one of the things I wanted to work on. Putting my relationship with God and my ministry first this weekend really helped me realize that the only way I am going to get through this journey is by keeping that mentality. There were times this weekend that I wanted to just eat all the bad things (I mean I don’t technically start will Monday right). Thanks to God’s help though I was able to eat right and mentally prepare myself for this workout I am about to rock! So, don’t forget to always put God first because He is the one that is going to give you the strength to get up and move. Also, don’t beat yourself up if you miss a workout. Start fresh every Monday and make this a week to remember!

Until tomorrow my brothers and sisters.
