Pushing past illness

So I have been pleased with my weight-loss, gained mobility and overall strength increase over the past few weeks. Then this week I hit a wall when a flu or virus bug hit me like a ton of bricks. Not sure if my body aches were from the bug or from the workouts – or a double-whammy of both… but I have only been able to hit the gym once all week. But as I am now on the mend, I am going to be getting back at it today. It’s hard pushing yourself to get to the gym when it’s been a stressful week, you have so many other commitments, or you’re just not “feeling it”. But I have found, that as crazy as it sounds, a good workout produces extra energy (even though it wears out my muscles to the core!!). I will keep pushing! The enemy of my mind has left me discouraged, defeated and defined as a give-up’er for far too many years! I am not that person any more. My resolve is focused on getting healthy. Until I do, I will continue to push!! I am so blessed to have a huge network of family, friends, coworkers, and RBL group members who help me far more than they know on this journey!

I just turned 49 and decided to take charge of my life! This is my year to get healthy and fit. FITBY50 is my motto.. I know I won't be at my ultimate goal by then, but step by step I know I can do it because "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me". I have a daughter with some disabilities and 2 grandsons I have to keep up with - this is my year!!
