Cardio is brutal

I have really enjoyed the strength training! I have been pushing myself to increase my weight limits. But the cardio is the hardest for me. It takes a toll on my breathing, and I am pronged to hyperventilate and have anxiety when I feel like I can’t catch my breath. Growing up I was extremely claustrophobic and had frequent episodes of hyperventilation. As I have gotten older, I avoid tight places .. but my weight has really caused alot of my breathing episodes when working out. Cardio has really been pushing me hard – but I have been trying my hardest to push right back! When I get too winded, I have to take a breather (literally). This is truly what scares me the most about the 5k. I don’t care about finishing first – I just want to be able to finish! I am up to 3 minutes on a speed of 3.5 bumped to 30 second intervals on a speed of 4.5 for 30 minutes at a time on the treadmill. I’m doing cross-fit cardio exercises as well to mix up my workouts. My weight-loss is slow, but going in the right direction. Best feeling is the extreme feeling of accomplishments I have at being able to do exercises and weight limits I never thought I could. I know I have lost inches in the way my clothes fit. I just pray that my heart/lung pressure resilience increases much over the next 7 weeks.
