Accidents and Interviews

Wow….life and sickness and everything else has gotten in the way of me keeping up with my blog. I’ve still been staying on track with my workouts though. I love going to the Y! I go 4 times a week (with the exception of last week when I had the stomach virus and only made it 3 days).

This morning I did my radio interview with HIS Radio. The devil was seriously trying to keep me from going though. First, I didn’t hear my alarm going off (this time change has really gotten to me), then as I was leaving the house, I had frost covering my back window and I backed right into my husbands car. I definitely did a number on his (and my car) and that really upset me. I rolled my window down so I could see to get out of the driveway and then it wouldn’t go back up, so I drove all the way to the Y with my window down, freezing the entire way. I didn’t let that stop me though. I made it and did my interview (which was really awesome) and then did my strength and cardio workouts. Not today, Satan, not today!

I loved getting to share my story with Rob, Alison, and Jim…as well, as all of the listeners out there. I was nervous at first, but I think the interview went really well and I enjoyed sharing some encouragement this morning.

Oh, I should also mention, I’ve lost 7 lbs. Yay!

Sickness and Setbacks

So, around Saturday I started feeling a little sniffly…and now I have what I’m pretty sure is a sinus infection. Yuck! Despite feeling miserable all week, I haven’t let that stop me. I went to the gym Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (skipped Wednesday because by the time I was able to head to the gym, Kids Care was ending). I was so happy because when I weighed in Tuesday, I was down a pound and a half. But when I weighed in yesterday, I had gained it back. I’m really not sure why that is. I’ve been eating extremely healthy since kickoff and I haven’t been going over my allotted calories my trainer told me to help me lose weight. It’s just really frustrating that I’ve been working extra hard and I don’t know what went wrong. Anyway, I’m just going to keep on going…I’ll get there eventually.

Late start on the blogging

Well, I’m a little late in the blogging game. I’ve been keeping up with my own personal blog, but forgot to write here. Anyway, I had a great first week last week. I started off on Tuesday with my Wellness Works appointment to get weighed in and get my other measurements. Then I hit the gym again Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday doing both my weight lifting and cardio. I’ve been doing about 30-35 minutes of cardio each time (I like the elliptical best) and I do my weight lifting, which takes about 30 minutes as well. I also started eating clean. That’s been a huge deal for me, because I really love food, which is pretty much what put me in this situation to begin with. I’ve actually done better than I thought I would; it hasn’t been that hard to say “no” to all of the bad foods. I’ve even come up with some new healthy recipes that I REALLY love now! I’ve made some new friends in my group and it’s been just a really great experience so far. I’m really looking forward to the rest of my journey!
